Sealants 24 Hour Cure?

Just One More Coat
I'm wondering how many here wait the 24 hours for a sealant to cure? before adding paste wax or another coat of sealant.....While doing my details I don't have 24 hours to keep the car....I either offer a sealant or paste wax as the finial step.....Anyone here have experience with applying paste wax over a fresh coat of sealant?

I've never attempted applying more sealents over another in less than 24 hours. That being said, I am also curious to that, along with using NxT if I should wait the 24 hours before I put some Natty's over? Or can I do 2 coats of UPP to make sure I got it all on?

I've applied Natty's blue over ex w/carnauba a number of times. It works, since the carnauba is just a layer over the sealant, not actually bonding - but I have a feeling that the durability of ex is effected, as in, when the Natty's is gone the ex will be too. Luckily for me I don't mind re-applying, but if I was going for the best durability from my sealant, I would let it cure for 24 hours definitely.

I'm looking for a super high gloss more than anything...so that's why I'm asking....I love the look of a good sealant and then topped with paste wax....I just don't always have the time to wait one day.

What if you waited a week then top another layer of sealant(weekend wash). Will this work?

Absolutely!
And that just might be the answer to a problem most pros face. Another layer could be applied at the next wash appointment.

If you want glossy and you're willing to trade some depth and a lot of swirl hiding you could use Zaino. With ZFX you can layer the sealant immediately after you wipe it off. You could even top it off with a paste when you were done with it.

My first experience with using a carnauba topper over a sealant was about 4 years ago, and it ended somewhat badly. I was using a combo of Klasse SG and S100 wax. Even after waiting a full day, I still wound up with the dreaded "SG haze". During my second attempt, I waited 3 days and still got haze. Afterwards, I became paranoid and began waiting a full week before topping. Using this process, I haven't run into any problems with any combination of sealant and wax topper since then.

I am a hobbyist detailer, so I have the luxury of being able to wait as long as I want for my personal vehicles. When I am operating with a time constraint (e.g. working on a friend's or family member's vehicle), I choose to use a single LSP. If I use a sealant, I will not top with carnauba. If I want to use a carnauba, I will skip the sealant. In many of these cases, I choose to go with a hybrid product like EX or PwC.

Thanks all but I'm really talking about on the weekend details for customers that I have to turn the cars back that day.

For my own, heck I layer sealants and all kinds of stuff.....

Has anyone detailed a car sealed then laid paste wax over the top right after then turned the car back?

If so have you seen any problems?

Yes. Just like I mentioned about I've sealed with ex w/carnuaba and then applied Nattys right after I buffed off the ex. I've done that to five cars now (all family) the longest being about 8 weeks. So far no ill effects, water still beads nicely and it looks great, still slick. Of course that's probably still the nattys working. Like I mentioned above I suspect I will get natty's durabilty rather than ex's since I didn't let it cure - but I am ok with 3 months of durabilty since I intend to seal then all again before winter. This time I will likely use Zaino and not top it for maximum durabilty for the coming winter months.
