Sealant durability when topped with wax

I raied this question a good while back, but here it is again as I'd like to revisit this issue.

In the spring, I buffed the truck with SSR!, so I was starting with a good clean surface, then applied two coats of Wolfgang's sealant over a two day period. Then with a day inbetween each coat, I applied at least two coats of wax. After one week probably, I washed and applied two more coats of wax.

I've been washing ans applying at least two coats or more of wax since then.

Now, my thinking is that the was is going to be lost before the sealant. It covers the sealant. Perhaps there is some mixing in a bit with the sealant, but still, the sealant bonded to the paint and then new layers of wax constantly being added on top of the sealant.

So should the wax wear off before the sealant, and in effect, provide protection for the sealant thus keeping the sealant almost as good as new even four months later with very little degradation fo the sealant itself?

Your thoughts on this makes sense.
If a sealant can withstand the elements for 2-3+ months on it's own. You are basically protecting the sealant, I would agree with you that the sealant "should" be in good shape.

However.....if I put a turkey sandwich in a ziplock bag, it still goes bad after two weeks in the frig.....?

Hmmm....maybe dipping it in #26 will help....... :D

that should work i guess. it gives that extra lil bit of protection and durabilty but i doubt would really keep it as new. u have to think that most waxwes have solvents that degrade the sealant. but u should definately have more protection with wax than w/ just the sealant.

maybe a test should be done. i think now since i have the mini just sitting outside ill use it as the test subject for durbailty of products.
