Screwed up applying Aquawax ( i think)

I washed my car and sprayed AW on the dry car(car already has 2 coats of #105 on it). I lightly wiped it off after spraying it on. It now looks smeared all over. Can I fix this or do I have to wash the car with Dawn and start all over?

Use Aquawax very sparingly and wipe completly dry. Use a mf towel. Ive never had any problems. Just use the Aquawax again.

Since the car is probably a little dusty now, can I wash it again and reapply? I sprayed it on a bit to too liberally I think.

Using the AW on a dry car, you are supposed to apply it with one side of the MF and then turn the MF and "buff". That should take care of any smearing/residue. Using it on a dry vehicle is a little different than using it when the vehicle is wet. Think of it as more a less a wax/sealant in liquid form. Apply it and then remove the residue.

yes AW is designed to maintain the 105 so you are safe to wash and apply again. I use it monthly and my car still looks freshly detailed after 3 months

nathansdad....if it smeared you used to much....I give the hood 2 good sprays..and each panel 1 spray....

Fold your towel in quarters....use one side to spread it...the dry side to wipe it off....

what I do is after I finish wiping from the application..I get a fresh dry towel and rewipe the surface..I find it brings the shine up a bit more....

when spraying it on..do a long sweep motion while spraying....do not load up the panels...

1 spray a fender...door and so on..as your towel gets wet from wiping you will spred it more..but a little goes a long way....

first time I used it I used to much..same results...

you should be ok...no need to use dawn ...just redo the car..but go lite...

If you have any fast clean and shine that will take streaks out the best...

While reapplying the AW may work FC&S would do much better. You applied way too much and probably did not wipe it off soon enough. The FC&S will level it out. When applying the 105 you can put it on the whole car wait 30 minutes and then go to your starting point and start wiping it off but with the AW you wipe it on half a panel and then wipe it off. I don't leave AW on longer than about 10 seconds less if applying in direct sun.
Use the AW just like it was a QD WOWO

I'll try the FC&S first to take care of the streaks. The problem was that I sprayed the AW like it was detailer spray. Then I lightly spread it around rather than wiping it off. The fact that it was getting dark didn't help much either.

AW is intended to be used on a wet surface. I use it on a dry car and it works fine but since their is no water to dilute it it goes on still very concentrated so you must spread it thin and wipe it off quickly do not leave it on more than 15 seconds. i also do what AL told you go back over it after you have wiped it off with a clean dry quality MF towel and buff it to an incredible shine.

NO it is not too late but if you get too much on it you will mute the color and after it builds up on the surface you will have smearing problems. Some people like to keep adding coats but if you talk to Duragloss they will tell you that anything more than two coats is a waste of time. Since you had to much AW on it if it were me I would drive it for awhile and after a few washes add a coat of AW. More is not always better. On some colors building it up may make it look deeper but on Black it looks murky.
