I think I talked to someone on here before about doing shirt for me and don't remember who.

Anyway, this is for something different. I wanted to make shirts for my site www.michiganrounders.com to help pay for the site cost. So, I need shirts done fairly cheap as so I can make some cash off of them as well. I am only looking for like 12-24 of them to start.

Thanks

2001civicex, I'll give you a bump on this one as I'm interested in a short run (@12) of shirts myself.

What prices are people paying? Maybe even breaking it down to initial setup and order and subsequent shirt orders. How about T-shirt brands. I would like a heavy duty shirt, heavier than the Hanes Heavyweight 50/50 shirts.

I got a guy in town who is doing 12 for me for $8 a shirt with no set up fee. That is white t-shirt one color. I may go with two color but it will be about $10 per shirt.

For the small amount I needed I think locally was best.

I've been checking my yellow pages looking for some local screen printing companies. $8-$10/shirt sounds reasonable. Did you find the "not set up fee" a common practice among the vendors?

Did you have a choice of shirt manufacturers? Whose shirt did you choose?

What format did you have to present your "art" for the printing?

You might want to check with Nickc0844 I think his parents own a shirt printing company seen some shirts he did for Steve @ Poorboys drop him an e-mail he might can work a deal. Oh one more thing two words that don't go together GOOD AND CHEAP.:bigups

No, most people wanted a set-up fee.

No choice that I know of. He just gave me a price with no choice of brand.

He just said for me to give him a nice clean print out of the art. He suggested I use a laser printer to print it out and get it to him on paper.

Hey there,

NEW AGAIN is right, I had the Poorboy shirts made up, as well as the new Hats he has. My parents own an embroidery shop, but we contract with a local screen artist for our screen printing needs.

12-24 is not a lot, and thus, the cost of production is a bit more. However, $8-10 isn't had at all, especially w/o a set up cost. Most will definitely do a set up charge up to 144 (1 gross) shirts.

We did the PB shirts on a Gildan 6.1oz shirt, one of the industry's best. I did everything via email, so the digitizing of the logo to the shirt was absolutely perfect. You will tend to lose resolution when going from paper to print.

....and most of all is what NEW said, "Good and Cheap".......on the PB shirts, we paid more for a better shirt and more for a better ink so that they would last. :bigups

As already said, that is a good price, especially without the set up fee.

Nick - so do you digitize? That's what I do, so i was just wondering :)

No, no my friend, I let the pros handle all that. On a side note, I didn't think digitizing was much of anything, especially in the embroidery biz....I was wrong. They have to assign each of the thousands of stitches. While my parent's buisness does have a couple programs, it's still tedious work. A new trend is sub-contracting the digitizing to companies in Indonesia where they do it for about 2/3's of what people pay here in the states.
