Scratched all the way down to the bare metal

My friend just bought a new van and in a bad windstorm last night a metal garbage can put two scratches in the van, one down to the bare metal. He has some touch up paint. Any suggestions?

Yes, treat it ASAP! Bare metal starts rusting surprisingly quickly.



Clean the area with some mild solvent of some kind, and put the touchup paint on the area. I guess if you want to sand the area a bit first, buy a "spotsanding pen" to sand the scratch a bit.
