Scratch Removal on SLP Muffler

I just bought a used SLP Loudmouth cat back system for my Mach 1 and one of the mufflers has some scratches where it scraped on a steep driveway. It's a mirror polished muffler and I'm looking for methods to remove the scratches and re-polish the area. The rest of the system is being mirror polished right now (the Mach is more show car and not a daily driver).

I don't have a bench sander and do use drill attached buffing wheels on the exhaust tubing.

Any ideas?

Thanks

BTW: I can post some pics of the muffler if needed.

How deep are the marks/scratches?

Deep ones normally mean a largish amount off material needs to come off, If the tailpiece is stainless, (not chromed) you could take it to a machine shop and get it linished back and polished.

RichT: thanks for the reply. They are pretty deep. The muffler scraped on a driveway and left a series of scratches. I would equate it in depth with a keyed paint job. I thought about trying some metal sand paper in aggressive-to-mild process. I know a bench sander would remove enough to eliminate most, if not all the scratches.
