Score One For Poorboys Natural Look !!!

I've raved about this stuff before -- it and Klasse AIO are my only 2 'must own' items that I tell anybody I speak to about auto detailing (besides generic MF towels, of course) -- and just did my cousin's car. It was a 'vomitorium' (his words :D ) inside. After we got rid of the McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts junk lying around the inside, we used generous amounts of PB NL to disinfect the seats, crevices, dashboard, nobs and nooks, etc. Does a good job on doorjams and other areas that get dirty/muddy when you don't want to break out the hose or bucket but need something a bit stronger than waterless washes.

Got everything nice and clean, and for the first time in months he's actually enjoying the car again!

That smell from PB NL is also very nice -- not any particular fragrance, just a smell that says 'clean.' I wonder if that's because it's water-based instead of oil-based?

The only negative is that I like to hit my dashboard with 303 for ultimate protection, so using the PB NL first means I have to go back to the 303 in a few days once the PB NL has dried and set in. Not sure if it's good to add 303 right after NL'ing the dash so I usually wait (I know PB NL has some UV protection but I consider it more of a cleaner/de-odorizer).

Anyway, I want to reiterate my absolute and cost-based enthusiasm for generous amounts of Poorboys Natural Look. It also apparently can clean stains out of seats; hopefully, I never have to find out !!! :D

I just received a shipment of PB NL (and some massive quantities of Bug Squash, which I've always loved) and gave it a try last evening. I like it a lot and, like so many of the PB products, it will become an important part of my arsenal.

Anyway, how did you apply the NL? Like, what type of applicator and how much did you put on, etc? I applied with a thin MF towel and found it real difficult to get a good quantity spread around evenly.

I find that a MF applicator is best for getting even...Also you want to buff the area after to smooth out...if you like it real shiny put on a second coat and it will shine right up

Beemerboy, could you tell me what brand (or URL) of MF applicator you use for NL? Thank you.

I wish that I could but I get them from a local supplier here in NO CA.....I would think that Autogeek would have some on his site

thank you. I'll look into AG.
Have you used NL with foam pads (yellow one from Pinnacle I believe)?

EDIT : http://www.autogeek.net/cbp100.html
This is the one I use, and I seem to waste too much product..

Yes I started that way but found that they got to wet and where hard to handle, and the MF ones seem to spread better to me

For the dashboard and doorjams and other flat panels without crevices, I just spray it using the nozzle as fast as possible (fast trigger = wider dispersal). Then I wipe with a clean MF towel right away. When going over the CD/radio or other areas where I don't want to spray NL into sensitive areas, I apply it into the MF towel and gently dab.

Yeah, the MF towel can be a bit tougher to work with but it does a good job. If it's really a problem on your surface, use cloth or paper towels.

I use a viking door knob applicator with NL it works really well and spreads evenly on dash and door panels .

Try a small WW towel, works great. I have the small Mainstay WW towels from Walmart they are cheap, and I cut them in half. They work well for Natural Look and for cleaning windows. I spray onto the towel, not the surface,

Agreed, NL is an outstanding product! All of it that I've purchased, however, has a fruity (is it cherry?) smell.

For application, I apply several "squirts" to a MF towel and wipe away. It has decent cleaners, although on heavily soiled surfaces I will first use an APC followed by NL.

One of my favorite aspects of NL is the included biocides, though I have no way to measure how much "cleaning" this component provides.

I have probably the old version, so I've diluted it a tiny bit with water. Used it with a Meg's QD Pad and works well. Funny how ppl use it other than plastic/interior parts.

+1, I have to agree with all on this. I absolutely love NL.
I have a 1/2 bottle left from the warehouse sale. It is very
rare that i will use it on any car other then my own.

I've done it but not often..

im abit 50/50 on this product

where ever i use it, i either get streaking or blotchyness.

ive tried it on 5 different cars

I like NL as well. Has a nice smell, and has a nice sheen that isn't to glossy. I do have a question though. Does anyone dilute NL. I seem to use more NL than 303 and was wondering if anyone dilutes and what ratio?

Sorry, been busy with my new HDTV....:)

I wouldn't dilute NL.....I'm sure you can, but it's not that strong a smell or greasy that it pays to do that. Poorboy can tell you if adding water materially changes how it works, I would guess very little (major benefit might be it comes out of the squeezer more evenly as it's more watery).

Unless you're using a ton of this stuff in a detailing business, the cost shouldn't be a problem. I bought a 32-oz refill to go with my regular bottle and they look like they'll last me 2 years.:yay

I have two bottles of PB's Natural Look. The first is full strength as it came from Steve, but I find the smell a little overpowering (maybe my nose is overly sensitive??) if I use it on all the vinyl inside the car, so I only use it on the dash. The second bottle is cut 50/50 with water and I use that on the all weather mats and other areas that don't get as much sun.

I liked it a lot when I had it. I let my girlfriend's brother borrow the 16oz bottle I had and he returned it empty. He doesn't detail by the way. He uses it for his sneakers. :bubba

:yay:yay:( :( that's funny and sad ....before Leather Stuff I used NL on my sneakers too and everywhere I went people would be looking around for Cherries when i was standing near them..

I don't reccommend diluting NL , but I'm sure it can be done. I have no idea myself what effects or looks it would give. :)
