Science behind Zaino

I know there is a debate (or maybe not so much of a debate;)) as to how well Z5 fills swirls. Z5 filled my swirls, but I was told this was because they were the light.

Anyrate, I'm wondering if anyone can explain how polymer sealants like Z5, and NXT, fill swirl marks?

What's the difference between Z2 and Z5, how come one fills swirls (if they're light) and the other one doesn't?

And finally, is there a difference in durability for sealants that fill swirls versus sealants that do not fill swirls?

Holy moley....... talk about million dollar questions! :LOLOL

The only one I can even comment on is the last point. I don't think there is a durability issue if you formulate it right, because AFAIK, Zaino Z5 is supposed to be just as durable as Z2 (someone correct me if I'm wrong). In addition to this, Klasse SG also does have some very minor swirl filling ability that I have seen first hand, and that is also an extremely durable product.

I think swirl filling is pretty straightforward. There is an additive in the product that does the job, simple as that. What that additive is may vary from product to product. I believe the diffs between Z2 and Z5 are an additive design to fill swirls. There may be other minor diffs but they're both alike in performance.

Ah ok so there's an aditive that does it. I was thinking that one might be thicker than the other, or bond tighter inside of minor swirls.

Z5 is a thicker polish and does a better job of filling swirls than Z2 because coats layer faster and thicker. I like to start with Z5 to get the finish perfect (after proper prep), and layer a few coats on till the surface looks as if it is encoated in glass. Then I wait a few weeks and wash every week with Z7 and then apply 2-3 layers of Z2. I found best results occur when I wait a few weeks to put the finish coats on of Z2.
