Saturating mf applicator with QD for EX-P?

I applied a full, second, coat of EX-P on my van today. The first coat was applied by PC. Today I decided to do the whole van by hand with an mf applicator. It just seem to glide for the most part over the first coat.

Big problem. I'm pretty sure that I applied too thick of a coat. It was a little difficult buffing off the sealant after a 30 minute wait. Also, alot of the sealant was absorbed into the mf applicator.

Can I saturate the mf applicator with ONR used as a QD? Would the QD affect bonding issues?

Any reasons why???

If you are concerned about laying down too thick of a coat, then use less product and work it in more. I 'prime' my applicator pads with the product itself to ensure no bonding issues. I personally wouldn't do what you are asking. But that is up to you really. FYI when you apply a sealant you sould barely even see where you layed it down. So if you see a lot of product on the paint, spread it out farther.

I use foam applicators for all my sealants and waxes. They absorb less product and allow me to get thin even coats.
