Sap is ruining my detail

I need a new job
Okay, I'm posting this thread and my face is about as red as a ketchup bottle. I'm working on a black 2004 acura TL. The paint is coming beautifully except for some stubborn sap all over the flats of the car. I tried claying, nothing, rubbing alcohol, nothing, bug and tar, nothing. I've polished these areas and the surface is smooth as glass, but the sap marks still remain. I'm afraid that the sap was sitting so long on the surface that it is actually etched into the paint. Should I try a body solvent? Any other wonder chemicals you can think of that I should try? I would hate to send this back to the owner with sap marks everywhere, but now I'm thinking there should be an associated cost with the labor involved here.

Try some RainX works like a charm... I have removed the worst PINE SAP in the world with that stuff. Just don't use it in direct sunlight and you will need to clean the areas when done. I only use this stuff when I have no other choice.

Has the sap etched the clear?

another suggestion is mineral spirits, however if the clear is etched wet sanding is about all you have left

I'll give the rain-ex and the mineral spirits a go, why not. I'm not feeling too confident that it will be removed but it is worth a shot. Thanks everyone, we'll see how it goes.
