Saab 95 Neo - paint correction - with results by KC

My girlfriend just ordered klasse after i spoke about it for 3 weeks. My question is what is more effective to layer the aio or the sg for a black car? which do people use more. After we get the klasse I really think my girlfriend needs some pinnacle and a pc. I just really think she could use them for her car. LOL as long as I get to use them. By the way her car is silver. Will it help her car also?

AIO has cleaners - it will remove other layers inclluding SG - so probably not much value in layering it. So you want a clean car, an AIO base, and then SG on top of that. It will be fine on silver.

Greg's steering you the right way. The AIO is a non-abrasive cleaner. All by itself it does a darn good job of shining up a vehicle. However applying several coats of SG over the AIO will increase the shine, smoothness and durability.

I lent my PC and AIO to good friend this weekend. I explained how to work the product but couldn't actually show him. Well for a first timer he achieved remarkable results by just using the AIO. He used it on a dark blue Super Duty extended cab truck and the shine looks better than ever.

Thanks shortcut. How many coats by hand (for now) of aio would you put on a black car before going to the sg? How many coats of the sg? Will a pc make a big difference than by hand? Maybe I can talk my gf into buying a pc also? LOL

First I would start out by claying if it is needed. Then if the paint is in good shape you can just use AIO once. If the paint is oxidized or really swirlled up I would use a mild abrasive before the AIO. Something like FI II or SMR. Then the AIO x1 then the SG x3 or more.

The PC will work great with the SMR, FI II and the AIO. I'd say that it works significantly better than applying those products by hand.

Thanks short cut. I cant wait!!!!!! By teh way is there any local places to buy the pc pads so I diont have to wait for them by buying them online? Sorry last question. I promise.

I have found the pads locally but have not found a backing plate. However I'm pretty sure that it could be ordered from Finish Master. They carry Meguiar's pads and 3M pads that are 6" and velcro backed.

Well I guess I feel lucky to have one of these stores so close. They are a supplier for bodyshops and the one near me stocks a full array of Meguiar's proline products and a full line of 3M products. FinishMaster has been a great resource for these products however they don't stock stuff like glass cleaner, 303, washmits etc.

Call some of the local auto paint suppliers in town. I bought some 3M pads locally a few weeks ago, unfortunatley the do not carry Meguiras pads. They carried alot of the Meguiars and 3M products, they even sold KLASSE. I am sure someplace in San Antonio carries pads. If you find one that sells the Meguires pads let me know I prefer them to the 3M pads. If you can't find a place in San Antonio I have found a few places in Austin that carry the 3M pads.

Thanks for the suggestion I will do that. My gf already ordered klasse thru the group buy but hopefully i can get a pc and pads locally.

The O'Reilly Auto Parts stores in my area stock the Meguiars pads. They are really convenient to buy from. You might check that out also.

Sorry, I don't know if they stock the backing plate on not. I've had mine for a long time. Look on the Meguiars web site, and make note of the part number. Then just give em' a shout. If your O'Reilly is also a paint supplier, then you odds of success are higher. If they don't stock it they can might order it (mine will).
