Summer Vacation Detail:

I detailed the exterior of my brothers 2004 Saab 9-3 last week.

His car has 50+ K on the clock, and sits outside 24x7 (he lives in Michigan).

My brother has been bugging me about a ‘clean up’ –so this one was fun. I thanked him several times for buying a black car (LOL).

Condition:

Tunnel wash queen 

-Filled with swirls, a few RIDS & a fair amount of Detroit contaminants.

This detail was done at Marblehead, Lake Erie during summer vacation.

(I detailed my brother’s car on my B-Day –something is wrong with that!!)

My parents have a PC & Dewalt –so I was good to go on tools & pads. I brought home a few Zaino products & G35stile’s ‘Un-Compound’ Mix.

Process Used:

Wash – Dawn (paint, wells, wheels)

Z18 Clay (1 bar was used with Dawn wash mix as a lube). The paint was filled with some of Detroit’s finest contaminants.

Polish:

-TOL Extreme Cut/Optimum 50:50 (the ‘G35stilez Un-Compound Mix’)

-BF Finishing Polish & ISO/IPA (70%) Wipe Down

-Z6 Wipe Down

-Z5Pro x 2 (zfx’d) (paint, glass, wheels, i.e. –everything)

-Z6 Final Wipe Down

After I was done with the ‘Zaino’ steps, I applied some Meg’s Marine dressing to the trim, tires (i.e. –I kept silicone away from the car until the end).

A few before shots:

* I was working in the shade, and away from the sand -so sorry about a few dark shots *

While I was detailing, my son (just promoted to Captain) was taking a cruise on the Lake with my parents (my father was demoted to First Mate).

LOL -No comment on the 'deja vu'.

I posted it up again for my brother. He likes seeing his car clean once a year :)
