S100 Shine Enhancing Paint Cleaner

I decided to pick up a bottle of the S100 Shine Enhancing Paint Cleanser today at the local Harley dealer ($8.95) and give it a try. This product (per the lablel) is designed to remove minor swirls, oxidation, etc , and is a prep (paint cleaner) to to their S100 wax.

I have been using Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion (PPCL) on the 300ZX for a while. I found the S100 to be much easier to use than the PPCL. It went on much easier and was a breeze to buff off.

I tested the S100 Paint Cleaner on the front bumper area directly under the center panel area. I figured it was a good test area based on the wear and tear the surface gets.

I clayed the area completely and followed up with the S100 Paint Cleaner. The stuff is great. It left the surface as slick as can be and removed some of the minor swirls. I then followed up with the S100 wax. I plan on putting another coat of S100 on in 24-48 after it has had time to cure. The surface looks great.

I would highly recommend this product. For $8.95 you can't beat it !!!! Thanks to Scottwax for the tip...:up

Hey Pat,

Why did you have to post this thread...I now have to go to my local Harley and pick-up a bottle or two of this stuff... :D

Why do you need it anyways, your 300Z looks great! :bow

I just called my local Harley and they don't carry the S100 SEPC...oh boy. I think I am going to have to order online...:(

Pat, if you want the ultimate finish, you still need a couple more products-first use Meguiars Swirl Free, then the S100 SEPC, followed by Hand Polish (again, Meguiars) then S100 paste wax. It would be good for your once a year deep cleaning, then just maintain with SEPC or Hand Polish.

However, since your paint is in excellent shape, I wouldn't run out and buy anything else right now, just a suggestion for when you want to spend some serious time on your car. ;)

S100 SEPC is an amazing product though...the shine and slickness are fantastic!

I did some practicing yesterday on a black hood filled with swirls. I split it into 4 parts.

1 - Control

2 - SFP

3 - DACP, SWF, HP, #26

4 - DACP, S100 SEPC, S100 Carnuba

#2, #3 and #4 looked great when I got done. I applied using the PC with CMA pads. #4 came out to be slicker but #3 felt...?I cant explain the feeling. It kind of felt deeper (if theres such a thing). I wanted to apply #20 Sealant with the #2 panel but I forgot it at home. All in all, I like all the products I have that Scott suggested.:up

Interesting comparisons. What is HP?

I was just wondering what DACP, S100SEPC, and then S100 would look like.

HP = Hand Polish AKA #81

By looking at it, I cant tell the difference between DACP, SEPC, and S100 and DACP, SWF, HP, #26. They both feel differently though.

Pats, thanks for the review. That stuff is definitely one of my favorite products to use just before waxing.

FNG,

Good work. Your conclusions are pretty similar to mine (assuming the SWFP shine is similar to Meguiar's #9). The meguiar's polishes seem to leave a softer or deeper shine than the P21S cleanser, which leaves a very glossy shine. MHP feels smooth, but not anywhere as slick as SEPC. Also, their waxes leave a shine commensurate with their polishes......i.e. #26 leaves a soft, warm shine....and P21S carnauba leaves a glossy, mercury-like shine. As a Zaino-addict, I tend to prefer the high-gloss that comes from the P21S line.

I have decided to try the S100 Paint Cleanser also. Since no one in Hawaii seems to carry it, i had to order it from CMA. I have been using Meguiar's Show Car Glaze and S100 over it. I thought it was pretty awesome compared to Gold Class. However, the red color seemed a bit hazy, which I attributed to the car's age. Boy, was I wrong. S100 Paint Cleanser with S100 Carnauba Wax is AMAZING. The difference is night and day. The paint looks brand new. The red is deep and real slick. This is the only way to go. I kid you not, the S100 (P21s) products is killer.

:bow S100... S100...

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but all this talk about S100 this and S100 that....S100 is exactly the same as the regular P21S GEPC/PPCL and Paste Carnuba wax right? I hope so cause I just ordered the P21S kit from CMA, not the S100 kit.:nixweiss

I have never used a P21S product but if they were different, S100 performs very well. I have the S100 SEPC and S100 Carnuba wax. Definitely worth the money.

Do not worry. P21S is the parent product and S100 is exactly the same (twin). Why? I think S100 was marketed toward motorcycles and P21S for cars.:nixweiss

Everyone here interchanges these products because most can find S100 products locally at Harley shops and the S100 is slightly cheaper in pricing.

...but that's me! :)

Does this product fit anywhere in the Klasse regimen? Or is it the carnauba equivalent of AIO?

Reason I ask is that sometimes I need a little more cleaning power than just Gold Class carwash, but I've got a well-developed multi-layer Klasse finish going and don't want to strip it down...

TIA,

Robert

It seems to be the preferred topper for Klasse.

I assume the normal straight line application technique but are there any other tricks like not letting dry, how long to allow to dry, massage in completely, light pressure/ moderate pressure foam verses MF/cotton applicator, etc. Techniques that may not be in the instructions or that work out better than the instructed methods. A "search" did not reveal too most about these technique questions. Thanks in advance. My P21S GEPC will be here tomorrow (ordered yesterday). Great job as usually CMA. :bow

It is definitely great as a topper to the klasse combo!! I have loved the shine/slickness that s100/ps21 will actually add to the klasse, especially on light colors.
