I have a black s10 with factory black handles and mirrors. The handles (doors, tailgate) are a black plastic that has gotten a little more gray than black. I have read about products that make the plastic shiny...im not sure thats what I want, I just want it to be a deep dark black like it was factory new. So any suggestions? I was lookign at megs back to black but it didnt say handles on the label even tho it is for the type of plastic I need to restore/protect. I didnt get it because i need to grab the handle everyday and dont want to get stuff all over my hands, so whats the soultion? I must not be the first person to run into this! Thanks again for all the help in this post and others!

PS will post pics later of mine, anyone else have pics that show there plastics all done up?

I have an 03 Avalanche and use Adam's In & Out Spray, looks like it just came from the Factory, Another product is Forever Black, In and Out seems to last longer.

I've heard that the Mothers Back to Black is more of a dye. So i'm guessing if you want it to stay that way for a while this may be your solution. However, there is a chance of streaking but I guess if your careful and with a few coats you may be okay.

Nope. Mothers BtB isn't a dye. It'll work on colors other than black.
I've found Autoglym's Bumper Care to work well for this. Not too shiny (on textured black plastic - ie. the handles) and it has lasted months for me.
Also, PB's Trim Restore works easier (IMO) than BtB, and lasts a fair while too. It's more like BtB in that it is meant to restore the plastic to original color (sometimes requiring multiple applications), whereas the Bumper Care is more of a coating that shows immediate results.

I had an 03 Avalanche adn I found Adam's VRT to be the best. It is easy to use and will last. It also produces a black semi-matte finish. Not greasy either. I would highlty suggest it.

Forever Black is a oil based type product will make the plastic black but not for long and will run with water....Its really more for rubber than anything

well I picked up some back to black because it is OTC and you all dont think its terrible, I will post pics tomorrow and we will se how it works!
