S&G Streaking?

Hi, I've been using S&G for a couple of days now. First thing i'll say is it works as what most have raved about to me: it gives my ride a great gloss. I usually use it after washing my car or as a final wipe down after waxing. I use a microfiber i ordered from PakShak.

It fine when I use it at night, however I found that when I use it in the day it leaves streaks on my car. I don't use it in the sun nor do i use it on a warm car. This is strange as i have not experienced this with other QDs.

I live in Singapore where the weather is pretty warm in the day and very humid. Could this be the reason for the streaking? Or am i doing something else wrongly?

Thanks in advance for any help!!

You might be using a bit too much...make sure your mf is not getting damp as it will only be moving the product around and not absorbing it. Humidity can be a factor also, so again make sure your mf is dry and able to absorb.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I really like the shine your product gives when it doesnt streak so i'd hate to stop using it because of this.
Thanks again.

The more humid it is, the slower you want to wipe with the towel... might help? :dunno

I've never used the S&G, but I've used a lot of S&W and one system really works good for me. I make a first pass with one MF and use another MF for the final wipe. You can keep the first MF pretty damp to not have to worry about a dry wipe when you are cleaning and the second one will stay relatively dry and remove the residue completely.
Not that it probably makes any difference, but I use plush MFs for both processes.

Good tips Charles, ima give that a try myself :)

I use an ounce or less to do my car. I find that just a little mist is all i need once the towel is damp, then i spread it slow-ish on colder days, and fast if it is hot here in Florida.

I have got it to streak, but it was when i didnt have a dry side of the towel....(never thought of using a seperate dry one *DOH!)

Thanks to all for your helpful tips.

I finally solved the problem. You were right, I was probably using too much and the product wasn't evaporating / drying quickly enough due to the very high humidity. I changed to a spray bottle with a finer mist and spritz it on much more sparingly. No more streaking!

I suppose the upside is my current bottle is gonna last me a very VERY long time now. :jump
