I worked on this RX-8 a while back. Originally I was just to do a wash and headlight correction. After arrival I asked the owner, “are you sure you don’t want me to anything else?” He replied “yeah just go ahead and throw some wax on it.”
The paint felt like sand paper when washed and dried it. So I then sprayed it down with some IRON-X. The paint had the whole 9 yards for defects. Swirl marks, acid rain damage, etc.
Blacklight was applied with a 5.5 black pad and left to cure for about 20 minutes. After removing the blacklight I wiped the car down with V7. I was really impressed with the results.
Headlights in really bad shape
Corrected with #105 and #205 using 3 inch yellow and black pads
Now under the Blacklight
I was impressed with the results for not having done any correction work and the paint being in poor condition.
