RV pricing?

I detailed for a new customer today and they have a 37 foot RV. They are quite interested in getting it washed and waxed and I was curious as to how much to charge. Usually for boats I do $15 a foot, so I was thinking somewhere along those same lines, however I would like others feedback.

That just sounds like a tremendous nightmare, lots of ladder work and a ton of product.
To wash and wax only? I would say between $150-$200

Hello. We actually own a 37 footer which I detail. Even though it is big it is all a verticle surface so it isn't all that hard of a job to do. Ladder work is rough but I have a long arm reach so that helps. I guess if you can set up a type of scaffolding or such it would make life a whole lot easier. If you are going to be waxing by hand, be prepared for some achy hands. I did it a hand ful of times by hand and last time I used NXT with the PC and that worked great. Ours is only part paint and the rest fiberglass and it's an '02 so the condition isnt all that bad. Aluminum wheels are def. time consuming on these rigs. I don't know if your going to be doing this but I just got a Mothers PowerBall and that works 100% better than by doing it by hand. It took 5 minutes per wheel rather than 20-25+. One last thing is the black streaks and bugs on the front are also going to be a pain. Sorry that I didn't help you with pricing... just letting you know what your getting into. I would def. get pics becuase not to many people around here seem to detail RVs. If you have any questions PM me. Good luck!

his is what we charge ($ per foot) -

wash $3/ $4 w/ roof

wax $8/ $10 w/ roof

deep clean and wax $15/ $18 w/roof

Here is one we did a few weeks ago.

But, as I think about, we usually aggressively apply AIO with PC... I should think about moving towards Joe's pricing of $15-18.

Frankly, I don't enjoy doing them, so I'll start bidding accordingly!

Jim,

They are easy money. Helpers you get to assist you can have little or no experiance, don't worry about swirl marks and one sale is an easy $300+.

Last summer a crew of three of us did three 36 ft RVs in one day. Yes we were tired but we grossed $1000+!!!!!

Thanks fellas! It is just going to be me taking on this job so I definately wanted to bid accordingly. The inside does not need to be done as she takes care of it. Also, is AIO or PwC ok to use on the vinyl graphics on the side. She was telling me that I can't use anything petroleum based or something. I don't think either of them are, but I thought I might ask. This will be the biggest thing I have ever detailed and it sure makes the F-650 I did look tiny!
