Rupes BigFoot LHR21 MarkII is a Beast!

Good to hear about the new Rupes, I never liked or bought the MK 1, It looked and felt like a cheap polisher, had no guts compared to the monsters I'm used too and the backing plates were not very good either
Ive never used the megs MF pads, I use different brand of MFs on my machines with dual mode with same throw and more
those units dont hurt them at all and they can go way higher speed than any other polisher)
I get around 100 + cars from just five pads of each grade (cut and finish)

Ive been thinking about going with the new flex 15 as my current machines dont like pads smaller than 150mm, it was designed for 160mm to 220mm pads for industrial use

A rupes MK II may be purchased depending on funds and my needs in the shop.
Still prefer rotary as a gloss enhancing machine but for most of my work it's Dual Action and I can never have too many machines haha

This is usually followed by more amazement as these tools do not run hot (efficient power delivery) nor do they vibrate. It took two years of steady (and sometimes frantic) R&D to improve upon the original tools.

I should note that the 15 is currently the best selling model. Among the RUPES USA employees, it is universally our favorite electric tool. (Favorite all time tool is universally the LHR75 pneumatic).

I am really wanting a MKII 15, but can't justify it at this time. Maybe if I will find an accidental no exclusion sale. That is how I ended up with my Rupes Mini.

I played with both machines side by side for several days at MTE and I'd say they've got very similar power. The G21 had much more power than the MK1 polishers. So it makes sense that with 30% more power, the MKII's are now on the same power level as the BOSS polishers.

Worth mentioning that the Mark II achieves the added output without an iota of increase to the consumption of wattage... so its still a very stingy 500watt tool compared to others that simply jam more watts into the system creating all that added heat and other side effects. As a result the delivery of power feels much more effortless and smooth. For those that may not have seen the writeup on this prior to the launch:

The 15 Mark II was one of the best decisions I made. It's a great tool. Looking forward to trying out the Rupes pads and polishes that I just ordered. The mini was another great addition.

I love mine, but it's all I've known so I don't know any better or worse....but don't get me wrong I'm planning on getting myself a Mark II for Christmas this year- just not sure if I need the big boy 21 or not..might be a decent choice since I already have a duetto (but man the mark II looks like a powerful upgrade)

I have a 15 and 21, though not mark II's. Get the 21 plus a 15 backing plate. Best of both worlds for your situation. The 21 with a 7" pad really cuts down on time.
