RUPES backing plate

Hi all,
I just upgraded to the RUPES Big Foot 21 and I had a question on the factory plate. I've been using a Griot's with 5.5" pads (meg's MF/LC Hydro's, mostly MF), can I attach the old 6" LC's I have with the RUPES plate or do I need to switch to the Meg's plate? In general, when I get new 6.5" pads, can I use the RUPES plate?
 
The rupes backing plate is not interchangeable with any other manufacturer's backing plates yet.

The Rupes backing plate 5" and 6" are interchangeable however. You will need to pick up a 5" bp to put on your 5.5 inch pads. And AG and AF say it doesn't work, but it does and works extremely well actually.

Also I've been using the 5" Rupes backing plate with all sorts of pads and it works great!
