rotary pad question...

Typically as a pad gets softer so does its cutting capacility. I have pads from LC, Edge, and Megs and the trend is the same for all of them. The more aggressive pads (Megs - Brugundy; Egde - Black; LC - Yellow) are all much more dense than their softer pads. The only brand I am not familiar with is Sonus. As for which is better it all depends on the job really. Sometimes you can get away using a polish like IP or #83 with a polishing pad and sometime you'll need to use a more aggressive cutting pad, every dituation is defferent. I would recommend you to buy a heap of pads in different levels of aggressiveness. All of the brands I have used work equally well; I have never been astounded or let down by any. You'll most likely be able to contact a local auto body supply shop that can hook you up with pads from Megs (my local also carries Egde) for a decent price, I pay $10.31 locally and they always do the job.
