Rotary Pad Build-up

I love working with the rotary, its the product buildup that I hate...what are you guys doing to clean while in use....I wipe mine with a clean MFT but that's about it...suggestions?

use a soft nylon brush

I use a soft nylon brush (about the same stiffness as a toothbrush) on foam pads ... With the rotary running start at the center of the pad and work towards the outside with the brush. Sometimes it works better to let the pad dry first.
On wool pads you can buy a spur and use in the same manner ... I just use an old junk screwdriver and it works fine ... don't use a good one cause it will get rounded off and become junk too!

For a guy that deals with a ton of pads and towels, have you thought of having one of these in your garage?

A little liquid detergent might go a long way towards clean pads and clean microfibers.

I would not suggest using a screwdriver. Just a spur. The screwdriver or sharp object can loosen and remove wool from a pad and can also cut the backing that the wool is sewn into.

The nylon brush sounds like the trick....I'm talking about the build-up that you get while using the pad...starts to clog up the pad and residue

if you were to use a nylon brush wouldn't it be possible to melt the brisstles in the brush leaving the debris on your pads..

The pad shouldn't be running fast enough to cause that to happen ... The only problems I have had is using too stiff of a brush and tearing the foam slightly.

I know a screwdriver isn't the best tool to use on a wool pad but I have been doing it for 30 plus years and it has worked for me.
