ok guys i`m needing ur help

at the mo i have the cyclo but will be getting a rotary but dont know what 1 to go for so what one`s have u got and how good are they

i`m also going to be getting the PC

Since I'm a fellow Cyclo fan, I'll toss in my $0.02. I got the Makita and I like it fine. I use it without the side handle most of the time, and it handles well. I used a much heavier Milwaukee back in the day, and I appreciate the Makita's lighter weight. I know pros who've used their Makitas every day for ages with no problems.

I have the Makita clone from Hitatchi. Love it, very easy to get used to it. After half a dozen used I am getting pretty decient at it.

Looks like your going for the whole "Trinity" :2thumbs:

My rotary in that line up is the De Walt. Absolutely a solid machine for sure. I like the RPMs labeled on the adjustment dial.

I have the Rupes Rotary and a Festool Rotex 150, both are very well put together machines, cant go wrong with either.

I have a makita the selling point for me was its lightwieght...Im really small and skinny and when i picked up a DeWalt i just could not imagine using it for 1-2 hours on a car...maybe im just a wimp... ;)....

How much are you willing to spend....

The more weight the less price the.....

The less weight the more price...

Now this is not a for sure answer just guide/example

With this kind of ? you will get all kinds of answer because it boils down to preference....

if you have the opportunity to visit stores that carry these brands most mentioned do so because you will pay good money and if you get it shipped and dont like it well....

but you cannot go wrong with any of those brands.....

good luck let us know what you decided....

Not really......

Hitachi ~$135

Dewalt ~$170

The prices fluctuate for what you get. The Chicago Electrics are pretty light and they only cost ~$50 bucks.

I got the Hitachi and an very happy with it after using that heavy B&D for all those years.

if you notice i said genrally speaking.....(example/to give an idea)

CE actually weigh 8 pounds just like a dewalt.....so lite your incorrect

but what i mean is look @ fein, metablo price there both light but price is way up there

also im talking retail price and not hooked up price or ebay price.....

hitachi is newer then makita and makita is used by auto industry and is well known more so there for price is dictated...

i have a makita an am very pleased......

No need to get all defensive and stuff. The price weight thing just doesn't work. Milwaukee's cost as much or more than the Makita or Dewalt and it's the beast of the bunch. Don't be mad at me, it just doesn't work.

I've used the Makita, Dewalt, old school B&D and the Hitachi and they're all quality machines but the Hitachi is the bargain of the bunch. It's not an "ebay hook up" but bought from a tool vendor in Florida. They do happen to sell them on ebay but even if you look around some of the more known online product vendor sites the Hitachi is cheaper. To each his own though......
