Rotary and taping seams?

After searching through some old posts it seems when it comes to taping seams some do and some dont, goes by experiance and preferance. Is it more common to tape seams depending on process being done or agressivness of products? such as a orange pad with menzerna IP you would tape, and white pad with menzerna P106ff you dont need to? THanks Darrell

If I'm using a product that I *really* don't want in out-of-the-way areas, then I'll tape/etc. to keep it out. And if I have uneven panels (one higher than the other), I tape the higher one so it doesn't get exposed to overly-aggressive work on its edge (when I'm working on the lower panel).
