RIP Richard Pryor

His concert recollection of his freebasing days, when his pipe would talk to him, was a really humanizing view of that kind of addiction. So many great movie, concert, SNL, etc. memories.

He opened so many doors for so many people. When a comedian can make him/herself the center of the joke the material almost HAS to be funny.

My favorite work of his was Blazing Saddles, which he co-wrote. That has to be in the top 3 of funny movies of all time. :up

Hmm...I never realized he had any writing credit in Blazing Saddles. Apparently, he was supposed to have the Cleavon Little role, but he was so controversial at the time that they couldn't get the movie financed...and he was supposed to have the Gregory Hines role in "History of the World, Part 1", but that's when he set himself on fire and couldn't do it.

I am a huge fan of his work and he was looked to as an inspiration for some of the modern comedians of today. We will miss King Richard.
