Ridgid WD4550 Pro-Pak Wet/Dry Vac

The Rainmaker
The Home Depot web-site has a new wet/dry vac that looks interesting.
It appears to have on-board storage for the hose and accessories in a tool box design.
A little pricey, but interesting.
I haven't figured out how to link to it, but this should get you to the Home Depot site and hopefully you can find it from there.
The model is WD4550.

Yes I've seen it and I'd like to have one :). I really like the design.

While that unit is nice, it isn't the one I'm referring to. That's the WD4050, not the WD4550.
I'll have to see if I can figure out a way to link or post a picture of the WD4550.
I didn't find it on the Ridgid site, just at the Home Depot site and it is only available through the catalog or off the internet.

Still can't link the picture, but here's the text.

From the description it seemd that it has the same motor and capacity. The design is different but I would be shocked if it didnt perform the same.

Just my thoughts on it

It does seem to be the same basic unit as the WD4050.
The fact that it would be its own case was what I was interested in.

That's a nice unit I'm kind of in the market for a new one...I have a shop vac that's only 2 HP...One thing that I want to make sure of is that I can use the hose that I have now...I brough a extention one for it and its really nice not having to move the vac all over the shop.

The Ridgid WD4050 uses a 1-7/8" hose and accessories. Chances are the WD4550 uses that same size.
It does limit you on what/where you buy accessories since the standard seems to be1-1/4" for the smaller units and 2-1/2" for the larger models.
The 1-7/8" probably works OK, just limits you on choices.

I will say the same thing, Charles. Not only my wife but the teenager and the college age daughter have already found it to be a good quick clean up vaccumn.

I need to overcome this urge to get the one you just ordered. It does look like a very nice compact item.

Will look forward to your report after it arrives.
