Hi all,

I wanted to get this thread rolling right away (so I wouldn't slack and not post what I had planned on posting)..It is not a complete review of all products....yet...stay tuned..

I thought I read someplace that your first 100 posts or so should be posted to this forum..if this does not belong here, please let me know!

I started out the day by washing the entire car with Zaino Z7 (it works okay, but I need to try something else..)

I dried it off, and pulled it into the garage to evaluate the paint. I did not see any need to clay the car, as the finish was nice and smooth.

Knowing how neglected the once Autopia level finish was, I got to work with the PC, an orange pad, and Menzerna IP.

On the first pass I used a small amount (one thin bead around the pad..) of IP, with a speed of about 4. It applied easily , but the results were not exactly what I expected. Few if any defects were removed.

After doubling the amount of IP, and gently working it in for a while at about 4.25, I increased the speed to about 5 on the PC, and finished up with it at around 5.75 letting the weight of the PC do the rest of the work.

The amount of dusting is a bit more than what I am used to (compared to 3M Fine Cut, Machine Polish, SMR, and Meguiars DACP and #9...).

For the most part, the product wiped away easily, and what didn't go peacefully, was hit with a spritz of Meguiars Final Inspection, and wiped up with a Microfiber.

After 2 passes using the technique outlined above, I wiped the finished 1/2 of the hood with Final Inspection, and evaluated the results.

Hazing was minimal, all water etching was removed, as were most scratches, swirls, and spider webbing.

Next I used Menzerna Final Polish II.

The finish left by IP was near defect free, but had some hazing. Using a flat white polishing pad, and the technique outlined above, FP further refined the finish and greatly improved the gloss of the hood leaving a nice glossy, wet look finish.

These 2 products do a great job together, and are a worthy addition to most folks detailing arsenal....

Take a look at the results..more pictures can be found here. MORE TO COME!

huh?

If you are talking about the images, everything should be fine...try refreshing your browser, or if you are on dial up, they may be a bit on the heavy side, bandwidth wise.
