I give this stuff a

for ease of use and cutting ability. Cant say what the protection is yet.

These are my results with Flex 3401, Orange flat pad, 3 section passes.

Before
Its not that bad, just weathered. The owner told me that I probably wont be able to do much with his turd. I told him to wait and see.

Bottom half polished

Got rid of some streaks from the aluminum drips

Some minor swirl & scratch removal

Nice turnaround. I need a bottle. What did the owner think when you were done? Not so much of a turd now is it

Thanks, I have to report that I have been having a major hard time getting the polishing oils out of the surface. I can wipe like mad and even use IPA but still see some of the last section pass. I have tried light section passes at the end, more product, less product, faster passes, slower passes, more frequent cleaning. Nothing makes it better. Today on the last 2 panels I decided to try out the HD Speed for the first time. It left NO trails at all. Wipe off was CAKE. With the McKees and a clean pad I can do about 3 sections before seeing these trails. With Speed I do 6+ sections and just change pad for GP. I dont understand it.

Thanks Eric. It does cut great but the big problem as I said above is the wipe down after. Its a beast and made me throw the bottle away.

I would like to change my above review to  cause it is a nightmare. Its too bad cause it does ok other than that.

The products that are sold here are mostly paint safe and body shop safe and that being said, there will be a lot less "extra bonus ga-ga" to remove, as you found out with the HD product..
Yeah, I would have thrown that bottle away too...

Great clarity from what you started out with !
What speed were you running the 3401VRG ?

I see those big things like you just did and am so glad that I have my Makita 9227C.. :)

Great Job !! The Client had to be thrilled !
Thanks for all the hard work and the time for pics, editing and posting..

Dan,

Thanks for the comments
I tried speed 4, 5, and 6 with the McKee's and as I said couldnt find a good combo...I also tried my GG6 and had no luck.
With the HD I used mainly speed 5 on my 3401. Worked awesome. The owner wasnt looking for correction as much as he was cleaned up and waxed. He got a little bonus. I would put the overall correction pretty high but there is a bit left to make it 95%

I have learned that despite them being flat there is ALOT of surface area to polish on even a smaller trailer. UGH.

The first time I Detailed an Airplane, yeah, I can totally relate to what you said in BOLD... :)
Then, there is the Underside of those dang wings.... :)

You did everything right, and the results are really great..
It will always be about pad rotation to break down the product against the paintwork and the pad..
Your 50/50 shots are amazing - the Client got an incredible looking trailer !
