Product: Turbo Wax car shampoo

Price: $9.95

Manufacturer's Claim:

TURBO WAX CAR SHAMPOO with its slick gentle suds safely removes dirt and grime without removing waxes or sealants. Especially formulated for today’s painted and clear coated finishes. This highly lubricated formula with its unique foaming quality and quick rinse characteristics safely lifts dirt and grime while helping to prevent swirls from washing.

* Safely removes dirt and grime

* Formulated for today's finishes

* Quick Rinse formula

* Safe on your hands

Packaging: N/A

Color/Scent/Viscosity:

Usage: I used approximately one ounce of car wash solution in 1.5-2 gallons of water. I sprayed a strong stream of water in the bucket to "suds it up." I then washed the car in my normal two-bucket method using a Eurow sheepskin mitt.

Overall Thoughts and Notes: The soap had decent lubricity and cleaning ability. Overall it was effective, and once the vehicle was cleaned and dried, it left a nice finish and added a slight amount of slickness. I would compare cleaning ability to that of P21s soap, but the final product was not quite as good.

Color/Scent/Viscosity: It is purple in color and a bit thicker than I'm used to. The scent is a light chemical smell.

Usage: I applied to a vehicle freshly washed with the Turbo Wax Car Shampoo with a new foam applicator (primed with a squirt of Turbo Wax QD). I applied it very sparingly - a dime sized drop per panel. I allowed it to dry/haze for about 20 minutes and removed with a clean microfiber towel.

Overall Thoughts and Notes: Application and removal was easy/smooth. The finish was very slick and had a deep, wet appearance. I monitored the durability - beading, gloss, slickness, etc. were pretty much gone at the two month mark. Overall, it had a good appearance and is very user-friendly. Durability was less than I like to see but still decent.

Overall Thoughts and Notes: The gel spread pretty easily and dried within 20 minutes. The durability seemed pretty good...about 2 weeks, but I would expect that from a gel. It left a semi-glossy finish on large sidewall tires. Overall, pretty good dressing (if you like gels).

Nice review Zane :xyxthumbs

Can these Turbo products be found locally?

Looks like you used "GSR formatting" for your review...lol :chuckle:

Thanks, all!

Johnny - Yep, I asked Sean a while back if I could borrow the format. I think it's excellent for allowing a completel review.

Scott - I wasn't aware that these were OTC products... :nixweiss I didn't note any cleaning ability, but there wasn't really anything on the paint to clean.

I think you meant to put Turbo Wax Tire Care Gel, not Four Star Ultimate Tire Protectant Gel. ;)

Nice review. The H2 looks great. Did you use any polishes/cleaners before the wax?

I copied the text straight from Turbo Wax's website :)

The H2 didn't really need anything before...it only had ~1000 miles on it.

I guess I can say this over here since its not DC.

I have used 4* and Turbo Wax both. I think they are pretty much the same thing, hence the name and affiliation with each other. Even the wording is identical between the 4* website and Turbo Wax website.

I found the sealant to last around 5 months while garaged. It was slick and beaded well. I used it over the pre-cleaner.

The tire gel is outstanding IMO. It spread and sticks great onto ANY tire.

They have 4oz products for sale pretty cheap, and 4oz of a sealant lasts me forever, i will order some and check it out.

Oh. I found it odd that Four Star's name was in a description of a Turbo Wax product. I guess you were right then!

Somebody should fire the copy editor! Go post that over at the other forum!

Nice review Zane, thanks for putting it together. But, I'm skeptical about this review - aren't you one of those guys that "do not register as who they really are, but try to influence people to buy their products in very subtle ways..." :chuckle:
