Reputation bars

Has anyone asked... but whats the deal with the reputation bars?

I mean they work, but I'd imagine someone like scottwax or aka patrick would have a few more bars. or is it supposed to just be red, grey and green for all users.

The reputation bars are a way for the members to show their approval of other members.

If someone is exceptionally helpful, you should give them + Karma.

If someone makes an exceptional post (informative, creative, beneficial, etc) you should give them + Karma.

If someone is a negative "persona" or "product" basher you should give them - Karma.

At some point in the future we will use Karma points to allow members to "buy" activities.

We will also use - Karma as a way to remove posting priviliges from a member who is being a bad boy.

I don't think people use it as much on here as other forums. I know other forums I go to the levels are very clear cut with helpful members having more bars then others. I know I was repping when it first came out, but haven't gotten anything back so just figured people didn't know about it or how to use it.

John,

I agree with you, and that is my fault. With the next version of Autopia (v4) I hope to change that. I think it will become very clear to people that they should give or take away rating points based on good and bad deeds.

How do you use it currently? I've wanted to show some folks they were appreciated but don't know how.

Click on Karma that is above and to the right of the poster that you want to acknowledge. IT will open another screen that has an approve or disapprove area to check and then you can write a comment in the comment area.
