I accidentally stripped the paint off my hubcaps after trying to get the dirt out of them. They are nothing impressive, but they are original Ford hubcaps and I was thinking of spray painting color back into them. Perhaps silver or chrome. Does anyone have any experience in this? I suppose if it doesn't work out I could just get a cheap set of hubcaps from an autoparts instead.

I have used nylon on plastic hubcaps with good results. You can add clear coat to up the gloss. Sanding and priming beforehand will probably help longevity.
