Removing warning labels from visors

I’ve been able to remove those ugly warning labels on all my cars except one. My Lexus has them on BOTH freaking sides of the visor. The label that was on the fabric side of the visor came off fine with the hair dryer but the other side on the plastic vanity mirror cover. This label is not budging, it almost seems like it’s painted right on there. I’ve tried goof off but that doesn’t seem to have an effect on it. I’m to the point where I’m considering sandpaper. Has anyone had luck removing this kind of label?

Is it legal to remove them ? I mean wouldn' t you void all sorts rights you have should there some (God forsake) mishaps come forth ?

After all those labels and warnings are disclaimers of the manufacturer. Let's just imagine you had a passenger and he/she did not buckle up and got beheaded during a medium sized headon ding. His/her relatives could have you jailed if they could prove you removed those warning labels... after all, as soon as you assume property of the car the warning decals and all become YOUR warnings to other people... (third party as called in law)

At least that is how it is interpreted her in Turkiye...

I would go ask someone knowledgable and be sure if I were you... It may even affect your insurance...

Well, I really don't think that the having a warning label or not will make any difference if someone will sue you and/or have a successful outcome. Most all of the label is addressing that a child should be in the rear seat. Only one line makes a reference to using a seatbelt and almost all the label is in foreign languages anyway.

I don’t allow anyone to ride in my car (front or back) without a seatbelt. I don’t transport kids that would by law require a car or booster seat. No where on the label does it note any requirements that labels must not to removed.

I’ve removed them from other cars and no dealer has ever remarked about them being removed. Unfortunately, this is the only car I’ve owned that the manufacturer found it necessary to put those labels on both sides of the visors.

These things are so unsightly that I either have to find a way to remove them or have them covered somehow.

I used goof off on the mirror side of my wife's Lexus and they came right off. I did have to apply the stuff several times before it started to budge. However I was wondering about the fabric side, since I was concerned about using goof off on the fabric side.. You said you used a hair dryer. How high did you have the temperature and how long did it take?

Thanks,

Lou

That good to hear, I did try goof off but only dabed it on once. I'll try using it again.

All the other labels that I removed were on the fabric and had no trouble using a hairdryer at the high level. You might not be able to keep your hands under the heat too long so I varried from low to high so I could get my hands on it. After they were removed, sometimes a spot or two of adheisive remained so using some goof off took care of that. I've done this on a Chevy van, a Corvette, Buick and Toyota. All came out great, the Lexus was the only one that had the label on both sides of the visor. I got it off the fabric side but was having trouble with the labels on the plastic.
