removing vinyl pinstripe residue

I hope this is the right forum. I removed some vinyl pinstripes with relative success, but there was some glue residue left on the driver's front fender. I've searched threads here and read that you can use wd40 to remove residue. Anyone have any experience and/or suggestions for doing this? The residue is driving me nuts! Help!

There are a few things try the WD40 to start if that doesn't work then mineral sprits or 3M has a adhesive remover that will do it....The nice part about having the mineral sprits is that it remove bugs and tar for further use...PB has a pro-polsih that will also remove it so you have a few choices

Thanks for the quick response! I tried the goo gone, it took very little off. I will try the wd40 with a terry towel and hope it works!

If nothing else works, 3M Adhesive remover in aerosol or liquid will probably work. It is also a good paint cleaner between steps if you want to use up the product.
