i had a nail in one of my tires about 6 months ago and brought my car over to my local firestone to have it looked at.
he removed the nail, put a plug in it and then, without asking me, added a 'tire sealant' around the bead of tires.
at first i saw nothing, but after a few weeks, something started to squeeze from the bead onto the edge of the bbs rims on my 2001 jetta.
it looks as if it's 'eating' away at the rim although it feels raised, not etched into the metal.
unfortunately, he sealed ALL tires as i've discovered in recent weeks as it all seeps out.
cleaners do nothing- EF HI, p21S- nothing.
i think i need something either stronger or more specialized...
does anyone have a suggestion?
thanks for any help you can offer.
