Removing swrils from where?!?!?!?

I went to the local touchless car wash the other day because it is still too cold to wash the car and I couldn't handle looking at my filthy car anymore. They did an ok job on the exterior of my car but they put swirls in the plastic that covers the gauges. I looked at CMA and they have some meg's plastic polish.... #16 and #17. I was wondering if anyone has used this stuff before? It looks like it just might be for convertible plastic windows and maybe a bit to abrasive for the flimsy gauge plastic. Also would plexus do the trick?

Thanks in advance,

Kevin

I've used it before and it makes a hell of an improvement! If you ever take your dash out (repairs, stereo, etc) I'd recommend that you do the entire gauge console. I've even used it on some other plastic/acrilyc surfaces.

I was a confirmed Meguiar’s #17, #10, and #18 user for a long time for my instrument cover, head and tail lamp covers, and then for the plastic rear window on my roadster. Then a friend turned me on to Plexus, an excellent cleaner and mild polish, very easy to use! The Meguiar’s stuff was saved for anything worse than minor scratches.

Recently I bought and tried Novus which is two grades of polish plus a cleaner, and the Meguiar’s was given away!

Now I use Plexus on the rear window and head lamp covers for routine maintenance. For the instrument cluster and tail lamp covers I use the Novus cleaner. For dings on the head lamp cover I use Novus #2. I haven’t needed Novus #3, but I tried it on a plexiglass desk top cover and it’s great.

For fixing the swirls on your instrument cover Plexus should be a strong enough polish and all that you really need.

Better talk to MINDFLUX about this before spending $$$. He's got a GTI and has been pulling his hair out trying to remove IP scratches. I dunno what solution he's found, if anything.

I went to my local Harley dealer and picked up some Novus 1 and 2. I first used the Novus 2 to remove the scratches and then followed with Novus 1. I was pretty impressed. All but one fairly deep scratch is left. It is much less noticable.... to the point where I can live with it.

Earlier today I noticed a fairly deep rock chip in my head lamp cover. Novus #2 wasn't doing the trick so I went to #3 - the mark was soon gone with very little need for cleanup with #2.

I wanted to get some Novus 3 but they didn't have any...... they did, however, have the entire s100 product line.......;)
