Removing Pen MArks

Can someone pleaase recommend a product to remove a permanant marker mark on the hood of a car? ive tried everything i have and nothing works, just regular car wash soap.

You tried a mild polish or cleaner like Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion or Meguiar's #9.

Maybe bug and tar remover would work? That's probably what I would try first.

thanks for your suggestions, i got so fed up i went down to a detailer and he buffed it out
