removing paint splash up

Well here in Nashville on Tuesday we had a bad storm including high winds. I was driving home after dark and came to area on the interstate where 2 lanes were covered with trash. I switched lanes as quick as I could but some object rolled over into the third lane.

Anyhow, I discovered last night that my TSX has tan paint on both right side tires, a wheel, and some is on the body. Has anyone had to remove paint splash up from these areas? I'm thinking claying the body to get the paint off. However, I have never removed foreign paint from the body of a car. I have no ideas as to how to get it off the side walls of the tires.

Can anyone give me some advice? I would forever be greatful. :bow

By the way I don't have a PC.

It all depends what kind of paint that got on your car? I'd 1st try powerwashing it off (stay within a safe distance) and then start with something light like mineral spirits and work your way up. For heavy cleanups, I never like to use clay or buffers, mostly solvents. Before going into the whole job full steam, test out a couple of areas to see what removes it best.

I used some stoners tar and something or another to my moms car. My dad drove through so freshly painted lines on the road and it came off eventually.

I worked on the car all weekend and finally got the blame paint off.:hairpull It was easy to get off the wheels but the body was another story. I ended up claying the car and then using paint cleaner on it and finally applying polish. She looked good when I got to work this morning but now it is raining. :aww:

I never did find time to try something on the sidewalls. So it still looks like it went mudding if one were to look at the tires.:chuckle:
