Removing Minor Swirls on a New Car

I have very minor swirls on my new car.

I just placed my order for SSR 1, 2, and 2.5. I also have AIO and EX.

I want the least abrasive polish out there, something under SSR 1. I would like to try that before stepping up to SSR 1 and so fourth. I heard sometime AIO can remove swirls, i'll have to try it when my pads arrive.

Any Suggesstions?

SSR1 is pretty mild stuff. I don't think you have to worry about that being too aggressive. Use it with a finishing pad if you want.

Good luck with AIO removing swirls.

What kind of car? You will most likely need ssr 2.5. Even with an orange (light cutting pad) ssr2.5 leaves a very nice finish. m2c

I have an 05 BMW X5. What kind of clear coat am i dealing with ?

I'll give SSR 1 with a finishing pad a try. If that doesnt work, should i step in in pad or product?

If you have any swirls, I would start with at least SSR1/polishing pad, but more likely SSR2/polishing. You can start with SSR1/finishing if you want, it's up to you. Do a panel and see how well it removes the swirls. Then decide whether it removed the defects to your satisfaction.

If you are starting with SSR1/finishing, I'd step up in this order:

SSR1/polishing

SSR2/polishing

SSR2/light-cut

SSR2.5/polishing

SSR2.5/light-cut

I have had luck with AIO removing minor swirls with PC, give that a try. BTW what happened with my side skirts and painted trim! :(

Sup Al! Sorry man, i been busy lately. I recently graduated and started working with my pops. I havent had time for anytime lately. I traded in the car last month and bought this beast. I have rims if you want!

I'll give AIO a try first and see how that works out. If not, i'll try the SSR combo.

Thanks Guys

I'd suggest just hiding the swirls for now (Vanilla Moose or another glaze) and then buffing it out with SSR1 after 2-3 months worth of washings (try as I might, the truly swirl-free wash is seemingly unattainable, without using about 10 buckets and mitts).

Heh heh, try using a foamgun, then you only need about 4-6 mitts ;) And I only use four buckets :o
