Removing cement

Just thought I would post this up to help out any future searchers.

I had in a black Ford F150 yesterday with some hideous concrete stains. Apparently, the parking garage he was parked in was doing some construction and his truck on the floor below got the gray stuff dripped on his hood near the fender (and antenna) and ran down the fender along the emblem. The owner was very annoyed and took a picture to show his insurance company because he thought he'd need to get it repainted.

I took a microfiber damp with distilled vinegar (5% acidic) and let it sit on the hood for almost 10 minutes while I compounded one side of the box :buffing: (the owner also had a lab with sharp claws :nervous2: ). I checked on the concrete from time to time while working on the other side of the truck and eventually the concrete just wiped right off. :woot:

Lucky for me, the drips down the fender were right below the antenna so I took the same MF and taped one corner around the antenna. I let it sit for another 10 minutes or so while I moved on to the gate. After wiping it off, cleaning with APC, then going on to polish/wax the rest of the truck it looked flawless.

:woohoo:

He said it had been on there for nearly a week. I am not sure how this would work on anything that has been on there for much longer.
