Remove Dried Wax From Chrome Emblems

hmm, i'll have to pay attention next time I try that process...i know it does good for removing nasty crap from the front of my wifes Fusion...

Well when the OP says "chrome emblems" I'm assuming he means "chromed plastic" in which case metal polish will likely introduce all kinds of scratches. Either way, as Jim said, QD and some Q-tips should solve the problem. Even water should take the wax off emblems in most cases.
 
If you have access to one, a steam cleaner works great. Most good strong APC's will do it, too. The ones I've personally tried that worked well are P21S Total Auto Wash, Hi-Temp Prep Wassh, and Simple Green (although some debate it's safety).
 
I usually use swabs, dampened with some QD. If something's really tenacious, and I'm feeling lucky, I'll whittle the end of a wooden swab-stick down to a small rectangle, feather it with a razor blade, and soak that in QD until it softens up a bit. The wet, softened wood doesn't hurt brightwork IME, and can even be OK on chromed plastic if you're very gentle/careful.
