Things that come to mind for me are wet sanding, mineral sprits, lacquer thinner. On the LT I would use this with a Q-Tip and very little to see if that softens up the glue.
Really that stuff bonds pretty well to what ever you attach it to. To try and dissolve it would mean that you are going to be putting the clear coat in some sort of jeopardy. That’s why wet sanding was my first thoughts, providing that you are very careful to attack just what’s on the surface.
Then I would use a chemical based polish with a rotary to finish up anything that is left.
Of course this is only a guess.
