Regular wax/sealant for wheels?

Garry Dean

Garry Dean Quality!
I am just curious. I have always just used regular waxes and sealants to protect wheels. Is there a true noticeable difference between waxes and sealants specifically designed for wheels and your general waxes and sealants designed for paint?

no real difference between wheel wax/sealant and paint products, I always use a sealant like zaino

now I am using Zaino CS b/c it makes easy work on tight spaces

Yeah, I'll second that :xyxthumbs It's rapidly replacing my KSG for this application.

But I've done fine with UPP (on the S8) and Collinite waxes too.

The best and by far the easiest I`ve used on the Jaguars 18" Mercurys is UPGP.

A quick ONR wash and they`re like new.

I use meg's nxt and sometimes the nxt spray on the wheels. It really makes dirt slide off on the next wash. I have no intention to ever buy a wheel specific wax.

It's been on my wheels since March. Love it. UPGP is (IMO) just as good, though.

Like Accumulator, I've had good experiences with 476S on wheels, too. Brake dust seems to come off of 476 easier than sealants.

they are easily as good or better than wheel specific products IMHO...

Opti Seal is excellent, FK1000P is a few weeks into my winter test and doing the best so far. Any Zaino sealant is also a good option.

I use Collinite, its great on wheels
