Red Z3M Coupe

This was yesterday's quikie. The owner is selling it so didn't want to go crazy with it, he just wanted it looking better. For it age ('98) and mileage (73k) it's in really good condition, with only the customary stone chip here and there and a tiny scratch on one of the rear arches. Other than that I'd say it's mint.

All by hand:

Wash with Autoglym No.14A Car Shampoo

Wheels with P21S gel (didn't risk Wheel Brightener as it was hard to tell if the wheels were clear coated or not)

Tyres with Safe D-Greaser and Armourall

Preptone for the odd bit of tar and under seal

AIO

Souveran

Meg's Glass Cleaner Concentrate inside and out.

Looking excellent!

How do you like safe degreaser? Does it clean tires/wells effectively? Do you cut it? Does it etch any painted surfaces?

That looks so perfect I got an urge to buy it. Wait, maybe I should just take a deep breath and wait a second in light of the fact I already have one.

I thought mine was shiny but your shine puts mine to shame and yours was done within 1 3/4 hrs.

You did well,

Edited: Just remembered, normally the wheels are clearcoated,

Sean,

I have to say I'm actually more disappointed with Safe D-Greaser than any other detailing product I've bought. It smells the same as APC, it dilutes at the same ratio as APC (4:1 heavy cleaning, 10:1 light cleaning), the MSDS (or whatever it is) data on the bottle is the same, and it performs no better than APC on any surface either. So, if truth be told, I don't think it's worth having both products on the go at the same time. I've already given a litre of it away, and when it's finished, I'll just stick to using APC. It certainly doesn't shift grease any better than APC, that's for sure.

On the Coupe I used it cut 4:1, but that's basically so I can get rid of it! I used it on the paint to try and shift some underseal but it didn't touch it. At least it didn't etch the paint though. An application of Preptone though shifted the muck straight away - I didn't even have to let it dwell.

So, in summary, I wouldn't bother buying it. If I lived in the US I'd willingly send you a sample, but I don't.

I have recently received a sample of Super Degreaser though so I'll be interested to see how that performs.
