Red Single Stage Restoration - Part 2

As started in this thread I had the time to finally get going on the rest of the exterior on the integra yesterday.

These pics ONLY show the deoxidation of the paint. I did an additional cleaning of the paint after these pics (but it got dark out) and I've still got to polish the paint some more and seal & protect it.

Process was using Meguiars Diamond Cut (a very harsh cutting polish, not to be used without knowledge of what it can do ie burn your paint) with a wool pad (again, a very harsh pad not to be used lightly)

This was done x2 on the areas that needed it.

I then followed it with Meguiars DACP with a meguiars cutting pad. (no pics of this, though I am surprised at the beading going on from just this process, as I thought it had 0 protecting ability)

I'll start off with some exterior before shots.

I won't get to finsih her up until later on this week.

I'm gonna DACP her one more time, follow that with #7 Glaze, and top that with 4 Star sealant.

Naw. the GF's parents bought my old daily driver (a 95 Green Accord LX) and we were delivering it to them. They live in the sticks. Ottawa, IL to be exact. About 65 miles south and west of Chicago.

the car looks great man, great work. i'm just getting a kick out of those tail pipes. Ive never seen "dual" pipes that were that thin. must be a restrictive exhaust. keep up the great work. want to see how those wheels clean up too

Sorry,

this was all with a PC.

Diamond Cut and a Wool Pad!

It really worked getting my MR2 red again, so since I had experience burning the paint on the MR2, I knew how hard to go with the DC before it was too late.

There are 2 small sections of bad fading on the roof that didn't come out, but it looks almost like clear coat failure (faded white)

Your car looks 100% better. Just fix that rust around the wheel well and get some exaust tips so people don't realize you have tiny pipes and you're good!! :bigups

yah, i don't think I'll be fixing much on this car. The MR2 is in dire need of a paintjob, so that's scheduled for the springtime. All mah spare $ is going towards that right now. . .

Though, I think some 2 inch tips will go on soon. . .

Yah, I love the pics of the rear upper quarters, with the half shieled section from the spoiler, makes it look sooo sweet after!
