Red Ferrari 430.....That I turned down

I was so looking forward to detailing this incredible, super-sleek, super-sexy jaw dropping Ferrari but sad to say that I turned it down as it would have taken far too long to detail, perhaps 10 hours on the exterior alone. Reason being is that some one somewhere used a rotary on it and either a wool pad or a cutting pad and put in nasty halograms plus some really deep scratches. It wasn't the dealer but most likely at port.

My cost for something like this would be between $400 and $500 to remove the swirls and scratches and get the paint as near perfect as I possible could. Since this was a deal done between other parties I wasn't sure the cars owner would be willing to pay that fee so I just wiped it down and sprayed some OCW on it. I have no AFTER pictures to show because really it would look the same as the BEFORE's.

I have a few other 430's waiting in the wings so not all is lost but I sure would have loved to have detailed this one. Anyway here are the pics of the car BEFORE I did anything...sad that they have to do this to cars like this, even the interior was all dirty with grime on the seats and doorpanels.... OH the HUMANITY :hairpull

Congratulations on using excellent business sense to walk away from what would have been a bad situation. Unfortunately we are all reminded too often of the fact that there is a right and wrong way of detailing a car.

Based on the pics, it does not look all that bad. I can not wait till I get enough business that I can turn down work. If you did take the job, what products techniques would you have used?

Horrific! Talk about a cock tease! Brand new RaRa in and its all f'd up.

Can't wait to see the others you do though :D.

why not send it my way ill do it :buffing:

Hey folks..

Latest update is that the cars owner contacted me awhile ago and wants me to do the car. The car is suppossed to be trailered tomorrow afternoon so after I do my regular washes I'll see what I can do.

He will pay my price, which is cool, but now I just hope I can get it looking right and that I have enough time.

The pictures do not reveal just how bad it is. There are many random, isolated deep scratches that run everywhich way across the paint so I'l spend alot of time chasing those down

Hopefully tomorrow I'll have some AFTER pics to post up.

I just can get it, how ppl make S#$% like that in any car, but in a Ferrari :wall

As you said it, the pics doesnt show the really bad work, the assassins done to the F430

Akele abraço

Glad to see you got the business Anthony. I've seen you correct paint much worse than that. Just be glad it isn't black!

Maybe you should start throwing 20% of your fee to the dock butchers and they can keep sending the exotics your way :)

All I can say is that butchered or not...that 430 is in the right hands now. I look forward to the afters Anthony!! :2thumbs:

lmao if you can shell out damn near 300,000$ who the hell wouldnt pay another 500 to make it look perfect

You would be amazed at how cheap some people can be who buy exotic cars! They gripe and whine  over a $45 car wash!!

I wish I had some AFTER pics guys but sad to say it just didn't work out to where I could get to the car before it got packed up and shipped to the East coast. I couldn't just drop my "bread and butter" regular clients for a one time car, that I'll never see again, even if he was willing to pay me my fee.

I have another 430 coming up soon but I am already worried as this one is going to be BLACK :shocked :grrr

Thanks for the support, kind words and I hope to put up some nice pics soon.

Hmm..what would to going rate be for a 3 or 4 hour foam gun wash? :D

What goes around - comes around, I agree with you on your bread and butter. I have had to do that a few times.
