This red BMW 325is was recently purchased by one of my good customers as a “winter beater”, which will become his track car someday. He plans on installing a cage and other goodies to make it track worthy, so he just wanted a quick cleanup to get him by for a little while and get it “red” again.
I spent then day polishing the exterior to remove the oxidation and heavy scratches and was able to get some pretty decent correction out of this single stage paint.
Here’s what it looked like after a wash and claybar treatment…
After polishing with M105, followed by M205 using a 5.5 inch orange foam pad, these are the results…
Once all of the polishing was complete, I used Optimum Car Wax as an LSP. All in all, it came out pretty well. Not perfect, but definitely a huge improvement from before!
