General Info
Hey All! Its great not to have school today. Got to detail for a family a second time. Used Adam’s products and I’m pretty happy. 3 Hour Detail from start to finish! Read on for process etc.
Vehicle
2002 Red (Turbo?) S Beetle that had a Valentine 1 and was manual. Great car to start learning. Seemed so open when I got in to reverse the car. Paint was in okay condition when I did a direct look, but lots of scratches/swirls/etc. Light I would say, but man I couldn’t dig into em like I wanted to.
Process:
Wash w/ Adam's soap. Lubricity is good along with cleaning / suds ability. Definitely a good soap for details. Better lubricity than Mothers
Clay w/ Mother's bar/soap. I have decided to demote this clay. It just doesn’t pull the way I want to now. Adam’s comes in!
Polish with Revive / Scratch Out. @ 5 – 6 easy passes as I wanted to maintain the new paint. Revive is a good paint cleaner that’s easy to use. But I wanted Scratch Out to work more with my green Light Cut. Either way I was amazed that both can be used at the same time! (Thanks Nick!)
Wax w/ Butter Wax: WHOA! I let my assistant wax after my polishing step, but that stuff goes on easy and spreads so easily. Made paint alive with gloss, clearness, depth, and seemed to just add a new look to the paint.
Dressing tires/etc: Adam's VRT with detail sponge: Very clean and simple look to tires etc.
Result: Happy customer! I was able to do some nice cleaning and waxing on a pretty good conditioned car in only 3 hours from start to packing up. Definitely could improve on polishing/claying but Butter Wax is a great wax! Not bad for a second time w/ an assistant. More to come! Always more improvement to achieve. :bigups
Before Pics below (Have patience I'm looking for tips/techniques/camera stuff right now)
