Recommendations on some basic products for everyday use, if you will...

Hey gang,

Two items I have been seeking out and I'm not 100% on....

1.)  A soap/shampoo dedicated to pre-correction wash & decon, in conjunction with a Nanoskin fine grade mitt.  Foam cannon friendly... doesn't have to be perfect foam but something decent.  Looking heavily at Meg's Hyper Wash... just due to the dilution but want to inquire if the soap plays nice with decon... I realize that softer clears aren't a given.

2.)  A maintenance wheel/tire APC.  I'm using Meg's 143 (Non-acid wheel/tire) and am liking it so far... but honestly, the 3D Yellow degreaser is peaking my interest.  I've asked around here and privately, with little feedback... thought I would throw this out there as well.  Looking for bulk and dilutable.  (I have Meg's Wheel Brightener and Iron-X for heavily soiled wheels.)

As always, many thanks for the feedback!

I personally go for multi use items.

While I use Optimum car wash, my real Decon Is ONR.

I like how ONR can be heavily diluted. I also like how

it can be used for nearly everything. This extends from

interiors to QD.

For wheels and tires I use Optimum power clean. I like

the dilution ratio and multi purpose is of this also. Not only

can you dilute this enough and add to ONR for an LSP safe

Rinse less wash, but it can also take the dirtiest jobs. This can

be used on interiors, engines, or even as a Decon pre soak.

Sure you can find cheaper chemicals. But can you find bulk Eco safe

chemicals that are able to be used for nearly every surface of the car?

I'd highly suggest these 2 products:

3D Waterless Wash - great wash as well as clay lube. I know you're looking for a wash soap, but I thought I'd post this to see if a WW could be substituted?

3D Orange Citrus degreaser - Very concentrated and can be diluted to clean most interiors to dirty wheels and engines.

Both will make your life much easier.

I use ONR with clay and clay sponges (like the Opti-Raser) and to wash after using IronX. If you want a relatively inexpensive and very sudsy traditional car wash soap, Duragloss #901 is tough to beat.

Generally speakiing, if you clean your wheels regularly, you shouldn't ever need a dedicated wheel cleaner. When I come across wheels in bad shape, I'll generally use Optimum Power Clean @ 3:1 dilution. In extreme cases, IronX is needed as the first step.

Scott,

Thanks for you take on the products.

I'm pretty 'new' to the detailing scene with my business... so I have very few, if any, recurring maintenance customers at this point... so the trucks and cars I'm dealing with are pretty neglected.  The wheels/tires in most cases are as bad as the paint... well, you know how that goes!

I can definitely get away with an APC 4:1 on my personal vehicles.
