Recent details v.faded jeep

Yes, I had to detail the faded Maaco Jeep again. I detail a few cars a month for an office and it had been about 6-7 months since I had seen the red Jeep with the Maaco paint job. Ugh. Faded again.

Here it is with just a small section polished:

A little more:

After polishing out the hood:

All I used was Clearkote's Vanilla Moose and my PC with a Meguiars polishing pad. I went over each area several times, then buffed off the excess, then went over it again a few more times. That is it. No heavy compounds, etc. Maaco paint is more than soft enough (compared to OEM paints) to buff out with a light abrasive polish. Of course, that is why it quickly fades too.

My son and I did three move vehicles that day, all in the bright sun. One steps with VM on all of them.

As usual AWESOME WORK! Very versatile product especially in the sun. Vegas is getting really warm and VM is definetly the go to product.

Some more normal details.

2002 Lexus LX470. #80 Speed Glaze with polishing pad, Menzera FP (Euro version) with a finishing pad and #16 by hand.

Chevy 2500HD. Last polished and waxed in January (American Shine's Cali. Clear Coat glaze and NXT), did it again in early June. Not much beading on this one. Sits outside 24/7. It was beading a bit last time I washed it in late April so between then and now, the protection died off.

Anyway, since the paint has a ton of metallic, I used Vanilla Moose and EX-P.

Last two, both using Wolfgang pre-cleaner and Sealant. Sorry the pics are a touch dark, but the sunlight beyond the shaded area fooled my camera's light meter.

I used the PC, finishing pad and speed of 5 to apply the pre-cleaner, sealant by hand.

Grewat job! what time did you take your pictures of the Dodge pickup and the black Lexus?

The Dodge, about 1 PM, somewhere around 7:30PM with the 2004 Lexus and 8 PM with the 2002. Why?

Very nice work. Are you cleaning the PC pads or do you have a lot of them?

I wash them out. I also have 4 polishing pads....all very red today after polishing out a 1994 Miata (pics probably at the end of the week).

I am very amazed at the quality of your pictures every time & just wanted to know how much of it is the ""right time"" taking them.

Great job as usual Scott. :bigups

With the office park customer's, are you still using QEW? If so, do they ever question you about it? I get that alot around my neck of the woods. I have grown to feel like a Protectall salesman giving the amount of times I have said the same ol' speech about the use of QEW.:D

AJ-I still use QEW at office parks. No one seems to question it, probably because most new customers are referrals. I just go out and do the cars and usually if people were unaware how I wash them initially, when I finish they are amazed what I can do with a bucket of water and two capfuls of product.

Awesome work as usual Scott :xyxthumbs

The Jeep = yuck . Maaco is such garbage...Why even bother??

They all look great and thanks for the reccomendation of VM/EX-P. It sure looks amazing IMO.

Beautiful work and pictures, as usual! Everytime I see your pics, I contemplate going back to an SLR w/ film. :bow

Looks great! Is the Maaco a BC/CC or SS? Gotta love that VM. Did you find that it works in easy even in direct sunlight?

The paint on the Jeep is single stage. I had polished it out sometime last fall but he only gets it polished and waxed when his job pays for it (one of their incentives is a wash/wax job from your's truly ;) ), so I guess he doesn't get rewarded as often as some of the other employes do.

Vanilla Moose is a piece of cake to use, even in the direct sun. That Dodge Ram was done at around straight up noon on a day with mostly sunny skies, upper 80's temps and about 60% humidity.

What's Clearkote's Vanilla Moose? and where can I get them?

I got my uncle's car with paint looks just like that, I was planing on using clay and DACP. But, maybe the clearkote Vanilla moose works better?

Thanks
