Reccomended pads for using Menzerna?

I have been wanting to change to Menzerna polishes, since it seems everyone gets great results with it and the polishes I have used just really haven't been that great for me. I figured that I'd like to try the SIP and and 106FA with my 7424. What kind of pads would you all reccomend using with each of these products with the 7424? All I have ever used in the past is 6" and 5.5" LC CCS pads.

Do you all recommend someone using Menzerna polishes that is not extremely experienced with the 7424? I think I have maybe used mine 4 or 5 times in all for polishing vehicles, so I am not really a pro when it comes to using one

Are you overall concerned with correction or gloss?

Would you consider the surface you are working on to be hard or soft?

Either way, generally, I use SIP with the orange pad when working with the DA. With an orange pad, I always follow up with a white polishing pad and a lighter polish. The gray pad, from my experience, is too gentle to remove the hazing caused by the orange pad.

If you are aiming for little correction, use a white pad with SIP and a gray or blue pad with PO106FA. That will give you a stunning result.

I personally recommend that you use Menzerna SIP and 106FA if you are not familiar with the Porter Cable. This combo is way wayy wayyyy gentler than the M83/M80 or the M105/M205.

I don't know what products you've used in the past, but with the Menzerna products, you achieve best results by slowly working in the products to allow the abrasives to diminish. Many people get hazing for now allowing the abrasives to go through the burnishing cycle.

Both really. I'd like to remove some light scratches and swirls while improving the gloss.

Hard for the most part, at least to be to me on my newer GM cars

With other polishes I have went with an orange pad and follwed up with white pad, and that seemed to leave some hazing behind. I have always had to go with a white and follow up with a gray. I am curious if this seems to be the case with the 7424.

I have used Danase and Meguiars, neither really provided the correction or gloss I was looking for

If you are working with some harder paints, a very aggressive compound can still finish out LSP-ready, or close to it. For instance, while SIP + white pad may require a follow-up on the soft Lexus solid-black paint, it certainly is almost flawless on the BMW Black Sapphire paint.

If you are still seing some hazing after using an orange pad, followed with the white pad, I would suggest using a light cut polish to go over the area again with the gray finishing pad. However, you have to make sure that the hazing is not caused by the orange pad and the aggressive polish you previously used, or the move to the gray pad to removing hazing will be useless. Generally speaking, on the softer paint surface, following up the white pad with a gray pad is almost crucial for the appearance of the paint.

Back to the original point. Although I have never detailed a GM vehicle, I believe the Lake Country Orange, White, and Gray pad are perfect for the Menzerna polishes on a wide variety of paints. You choose the least aggressive pad and polish required to remove the swirls or scratches, then you follow up the process with a less aggressive pad and polish to enhance the gloss. This is the general formula being utilizied by almost everyone here.
