Ok, so my friend's 95 Z is in need of serious help. Its got some very deep maring and rids. a lot of scratches through the paint. It's a hopeless case but damnit I really wanna turn this thing around for him. Today I took my flex over and did the hood with a yellow kompressor pad and M105. it glossed up nicely but it's still scattered with defects. I'm thinking I need a purple wool pad. I might wet sand the whole car too. I'm curious if the following steps are right, if not, please tell me a corrected order/pad & chemical combo

wet sand 2000grit

purple wool/M105

yellow pad M105

cyan pad M105

tangerine pad M205

wax

be careful with older gm cars, especially 90's. gm had a rash of bad paint, if you sand too much you might cause failure of the clear. dont forget it is 15 years old and from what you wrote not very well taken care of. also most Z's are fiber glass, but not regular FG they used a special type if i remember from trying to fix them

tssdetailing- Yeah, I too recommend you *NOT* get really aggressive lest you precipitate cc failure. And take it very easy on the plastic body-colored bits, their UV resistance will disappear in no time if you overthin their clear (and it doesn't take much to do that).

Don't let the Curse of Autopia bite this car...the owner won't be happy if he has to get it repainted a year from now.

No need for a yellow/M105 combo, especially between the PFW and the next step. PFW/M105 oughta finish out *almost* as well as M105/orange or cyan.
